Bat Warranty

SHORT PORCH BASEBALL COMPANY

BAT WARRANTY POLICY

IMPORTANT WARRANTY INFORMATION

SENIOR SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL BATS ARE NOT COVERED BY A MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY OR PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE.

ALL OTHER ELIGIBLE SHORT PORCH BATS CARRY A LIMITED 180-DAY MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY.

YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR BAT WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE DATE TO ACTIVATE WARRANTY COVERAGE.

The 180-day warranty period begins on the original purchase date, not the date of delivery or registration.

Bats registered after the 30-day deadline are not eligible for warranty coverage.

1. WARRANTY COVERAGE

Short Porch Baseball Company provides a one-time limited manufacturer's warranty on eligible bats purchased directly from Short Porch or an authorized Short Porch dealer.

Subject to inspection and approval, this warranty covers qualifying defects occurring within 180 days of the original purchase date, including:

  • Severe denting

  • Structural cracking

  • Handle bending

  • Broken end caps or knobs

  • Other defects in materials or workmanship, as determined by Short Porch Baseball Company

If a warranty claim is approved, Short Porch may, at its discretion:

  • Repair the defective bat.

  • Replace the bat with the same model.

  • Replace the bat with a comparable model if the original model is discontinued or unavailable.

A repaired or replacement bat does not restart or extend the original 180-day warranty period.

2. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

Bat eligibility and ownership

  • Senior slowpitch softball bats.

  • Bats purchased from unauthorized dealers, individual sellers, or unauthorized third-party marketplaces, including Facebook Marketplace, buy/sell/trade groups, eBay, Amazon, and auction websites.

  • Bats transferred or resold by the original purchaser.

  • Bats not registered within 30 days of the original purchase date.

  • Bats outside the original 180-day warranty period.

Normal wear, misuse, and improper use

  • Normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage.

  • Damage resulting from abuse, misuse, or mistreatment.

  • Bats used in commercial batting cages.

  • Bats used to strike objects other than approved softballs or other balls expressly approved for that bat model.

  • Bats used with cage balls or weighted training balls.

  • Damage caused by contact with metal cleats, rocks, or other inappropriate objects.

Alterations and modifications

Unauthorized modifications that change the bat's moment of inertia (MOI), construction, or performance, including:

  • Bat rolling.

  • Inner-wall shaving.

  • Changing the end load.

  • Bat doctoring.

  • Other unauthorized structural or performance modifications.

Short Porch reserves the right to deny warranty coverage when inspection identifies evidence of prohibited alterations or misuse.

Bat Compression & Performance

Bat compression naturally changes with use and may vary by model, construction, and certification standards.

A bat failing a league or tournament compression test does not automatically qualify for warranty replacement. Compression loss resulting from normal use is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Short Porch Baseball Company reserves the right to inspect and evaluate all warranty claims to determine whether a covered manufacturing defect exists.

3. WARRANTY REGISTRATION

To activate warranty eligibility, customers must:

  1. Complete the Short Porch Bat Warranty Registration within 30 days of the original purchase date.

  2. Provide accurate purchase information and the bat's serial number.

  3. Retain the original purchase receipt as proof of purchase.

Registration must be completed within 30 days of purchase. Late registration does not activate warranty coverage.

The 180-day warranty period begins on the original purchase date regardless of when the bat is registered.

4. HOW TO SUBMIT A WARRANTY CLAIM

Step 1 — Request Return Authorization

Complete the Short Porch Return Authorization (RA) form before returning a bat for inspection.

Step 2 — Receive Your RA Number

If the return request is authorized, Short Porch will provide an RA number and instructions for returning the bat.

Do not return a bat to a dealer or ship it to Short Porch without an assigned RA number.

Unauthorized shipments may be refused or returned without warranty processing.

Step 3 — Prepare Your Return

Include:

  • The defective bat.

  • A copy of the original purchase receipt.

  • Your assigned RA number.

The serial number on the bat, purchase receipt, warranty registration, and RA documentation must match.

Step 4 — Ship Your Bat

Customers are responsible for shipping the bat to Short Porch for warranty inspection unless otherwise agreed or required by applicable law.

We recommend using a trackable shipping service and securely packaging the bat.

Step 5 — Inspection and Review

Short Porch will inspect the returned bat to determine whether it qualifies for warranty coverage.

Submitting a bat does not guarantee approval.

Customers will be notified of the warranty determination.

Step 6 — Approved Warranty Claims

If approved, Short Porch will:

  • Repair the bat.

  • Replace it with the same model.

  • Provide a comparable replacement if the original model is discontinued or unavailable.

The resolution will be determined by Short Porch based on the inspection findings and product availability.

Step 7 — Denied Warranty Claims

If the claim is denied, Short Porch will notify the customer and return the bat in its inspected condition.

5. RETURNS, DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE & SHIPPING PROTECTION

This Bat Warranty Policy is separate from the Short Porch Baseball Company Returns & Refunds Policy.

Standard Returns and Exchanges

Unused merchandise in its original condition and packaging may be considered for return or exchange under our separate Returns & Refunds Policy.

All standard return and exchange requests require prior authorization and are reviewed individually.

Merchandise Received Defective

If merchandise arrives defective and remains unused with its original packaging intact, customers should contact Short Porch directly.

  • With Shipping Protection: When the issue is verified and the claim is approved, Short Porch will cover return and replacement shipping costs, subject to applicable Shipping Protection coverage terms.

  • Without Shipping Protection: Short Porch will review each situation individually and determine an appropriate resolution. Refunds, replacements, and shipping coverage are not automatically guaranteed, subject to applicable consumer rights.

Defects Discovered After Use

Eligible bats that develop qualifying defects after use may be submitted for warranty inspection under this policy.

All registration deadlines, warranty exclusions, and inspection requirements apply.

Shipping Protection does not automatically cover warranty inspection shipping costs unless its applicable terms specifically provide that coverage.

For ordinary returns, exchanges, incorrect shipments, and other shipping-related claims, please refer to our separate Returns & Refunds Policy.

6. ADDITIONAL WARRANTY CONDITIONS

  • Proof of purchase and timely warranty registration are required.
